This might sound strange given the fact I make videos, but I have come to the realisation that my passion isn't filmmaking. It's people. I love connecting with different people around the world, discovering what makes them tick and sharing experiences with them.
If Jop is on a trip, it's going to be a fun trip - it's as simple as that. When I first started working with him, he was 18 (looked about 12), and when I saw what he could do at that age I knew we would be working together for years to come. Incredible filmmaker, always smiling and always has your back when shit goes wrong.
The first time I met Craig I knew we were going to be great friends. One of my first memories is sitting eating at 11pm, jet-lagged, exhausted, generally pretty destroyed. Some random guy mentioned that the best time to see Blyde River Canyon was sunrise and that meant a 4am wake-up. Of course, there was never any hesitation of whether we would be there. There are many things you can teach, but not that. Many, many adventures have followed and I hope many more are to come.
If he's not blowing something up or crashing a motorbike, I will usually find him building some crazy contraption that will enable us to get a mind-blowing shot. James is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to start creating content simply because I love the playful imagination he brings to it. Probably the most creative person I know. And he can even sing.
